Western Australian Current Regulations Western Australian Current Regulations (1) The CEO must not
grant a licence for a vehicle —
(a)
unless the vehicle has an engine identification number and there is compliance
with regulation 274; or
(b) if
the vehicle’s engine identification number has been, or appears to have
been altered, defaced, obliterated or removed.
(2) The CEO must not
grant a licence for a motor vehicle, trailer or semi‑trailer
manufactured on or after 1 January 1989 —
(a)
unless the vehicle has a VIN and there is compliance with regulation 274;
or
(b) if
the VIN has been, or appears to have been altered, defaced, obliterated or
removed.
