(1) A motor vehicle,
trailer or any vehicle in a combination must have at least one tail light
fitted on or towards the rear of the vehicle.
(2) A motor tricycle
with 2 rear wheels, or a motor vehicle with 4 or more wheels, built after 1959
must have at least one tail light fitted on or towards each side of the rear
of the vehicle.
(3) A trailer built
after June 1973 must have at least one tail light fitted on or towards each
side of the rear of the vehicle.
(4) The centre of a
tail light mentioned in subregulation (1), (2) or (3) must not
be over —
(a)
1.5 m above ground level; or
(b) if
it is not practicable to fit the light lower — 2.1 m
above ground level.
(5) A motor vehicle,
trailer or any vehicle in a combination may have one or more additional tail
lights at any height above ground level.
