A vehicle licence
charge is not payable for a vehicle that —
(a) is
owned by the Crown in right of the State and has an MRC not exceeding
4 500 kg; or
(b) is
owned by a local government; or
(c)
is —
(i)
owned by the Crown in any capacity or a local government;
and
(ii)
under the control of the chief executive officer of the
department of the Public Service principally assisting in the administration
of the Fire and Emergency Services Act 1998 ; and
(iii)
to be used exclusively for preventing and extinguishing
fires or dealing with other emergencies;
or
(d) is
to be used exclusively as an ambulance.
