This legislation has been repealed.
The master or a vessel
shall not discharge, and a consignor shall not deliver for shipment, any
packages or article of a gross weight of one tonne or more, unless the package
or article has the weight marked thereon in legible characters or not less
than 25 millimetres in height; but where it is not practicable to weigh any
package or article of which the weight is more than one tonne the gross weight
of the package, or article may be stated approximately, within a limit of one
tonne, that is to say “over one but under 2 tonnes” or as the case
may be.
