Where the distance
from the centre of the steering wheel to the outer extremity on the right hand
side of a motor vehicle or its load exceeds 600 millimetres, or where the
construction, equipment or load of a motor vehicle or of a trailer drawn by
it, is such that it would prevent the driver of the vehicle, while remaining
in his proper driving position, giving a clear signal of his intention to turn
or diverge to the right, or to stop or slow down, by use of his arm and hand,
a signalling device complying with the requirements of these regulations shall
be fitted to the vehicle.
