EXTRACT OF TRANSCRIPT OF PROCEEDINGS [12.32pm]
PN1
THE SENIOR DEPUTY PRESIDENT: The Commission makes the following statement in this matter.
PN2
Following the conference today, the Commission will take no further action at present. However, I recommend without prejudice that the University carry out the process it has outlined in conference. That process is:
PN3
1. The Executive Director, Human Resources, will review the generic position description prepared for the three positions of grounds supervisor.
PN4
2. He will determine the classification level appropriate to those positions including that of Mr D. Millar.
PN5
3. Following receipt from the Executive Director, University's Properties, of duties additional to those in the generic position description performed by Mr Millar, the Executive Director, Human Resources, will determine whether or not in consideration of performance of those duties by Mr Millar whether or not he should be paid a personal allowance. The Executive Director Human Resources will then make a recommendation to the Vice Chancellor for his determination as to whether or not Mr Millar should be paid a personal allowance and if so, the amount of such payment.
PN6
These steps are to be completed by 17 August next. The parties are then at liberty to make such applications as may then be appropriate.
