Tasmania and Others for certification of the
Australian Red Cross - Tasmania and Nurses (ARCBS
Tasmania) Long Service Leave Agreement 2002
HOBART
10.32 AM, WEDNESDAY, 8 MAY 2002
PN1
MR T. KLEYN: I appear on behalf of the Health Services Union of Australia.
PN2
THE DEPUTY PRESIDENT: Thank you. I think you are it, are you?
PN3
MR KLEYN: I think I am it.
PN4
THE DEPUTY PRESIDENT: Okay. We have a letter from the Australian Red Cross Blood Service advising that they won't be in attendance but they agree to the certification proceeding in their absence. Did you want to speak briefly to the document?
PN5
MR KLEYN: Just to say that we are very happy for the agreement to be certified today.
PN6
THE DEPUTY PRESIDENT: It is a single issue agreement - - -
PN7
MR KLEYN: It is a single issue, yes. It just provides for long service leave to be - long service leave entitlement after 10 years rather than 15, so I think it is a very good agreement.
PN8
THE DEPUTY PRESIDENT: I can understand why you are keen to have it certified.
PN9
MR KLEYN: Yes.
PN10
THE DEPUTY PRESIDENT: This is an application pursuant to section 170LS of the Workplace Relations Act for certification of the agreement to be known as the Australian Red Cross Blood Service - Tasmania and Nurses (ARCBS Tasmania) Long Service Leave Agreement 2002. The parties to the agreement are the Australian Red Cross Blood Service, the ANF and the HSUA and employees covered by the classifications in the other agreement.
PN11
The agreement covers long service leave only and the parties have provided the necessary stat decs and I am satisfied have met the requirements of the Act. This agreement came into effect from 31 January 2002 and is to remain in force for a period of three years. An order will issue effective from today's date. What do all the initials stand for, do you know?
PN12
MR KLEYN: Yes, Australian Red Cross Blood Service.
PN13
THE DEPUTY PRESIDENT: Oh, so simple when you look at it. Okay, that agreement is certified, thank you.
PN14
MR KLEYN: Thank you.
ADJOURNED INDEFINITELY [10.35am]
