PN1
MS K. WILD: I appear on behalf of the Australian Workers' Union.
PN2
THE DEPUTY PRESIDENT: Thank you, Ms Wild. Right. I understand, Ms Wild, you are seeking an adjournment, is that the case?
PN3
MS WILD: Your Honour, if that is what you would prefer an adjournment, otherwise I have spoken to one of the parties this morning and advised that I could put the submission forward and give them 14 days for us to reach a - - -
PN4
THE DEPUTY PRESIDENT: Look, it is probably best to have them here to respond - listen to and respond and we might even have some, you know, interaction.
PN5
MS WILD: Yes.
PN6
THE DEPUTY PRESIDENT: So why don't we adjourn it then for, what, 14 days is what you are proposing?
PN7
MS WILD: That is what I proposed, yes, with the employer organisation.
PN8
THE DEPUTY PRESIDENT: All right. Well, I am happy to do that. Just bear with me for a minute.
PN9
MS WILD: I apologise for the inconvenience.
PN10
THE DEPUTY PRESIDENT: All right then. We will adjourn it then until 10.15 am on 1 November, that is 14 days.
PN11
MS WILD: Okay.
PN12
THE DEPUTY PRESIDENT: And you will notify them, will you?
PN13
MS WILD: I will notify them this afternoon.
PN14
THE DEPUTY PRESIDENT: Right.
PN15
MS WILD: Promise. Sorry, what was the time, at - - -
PN16
THE DEPUTY PRESIDENT: 10.15, Friday, 1 November. Now, one other thing, yes, I would like you to put on record why it was that on the last occasion you didn't appear in the matter, if you could, please, Ms Wild.
PN17
MS WILD: Yes. I would like to apologise for that. There was a slip-up by myself in that there was a change of date proposed and then that proposed date change was reverted back to the original day and I failed to make that change back in my diary and the hearing went past without me realising, until Kate gave me a call.
PN18
THE DEPUTY PRESIDENT: All right. Well, thank you very much for that. These things do happen.
PN19
MS WILD: I do apologise. I realise this has been a long haul for a couple of safety net increases and I do apologise.
PN20
THE DEPUTY PRESIDENT: No, no, that is quite all right. These things do happen but I am sure that it won't happen again.
PN21
MS WILD: No, it won't.
PN22
THE DEPUTY PRESIDENT: Thank you very much, Ms Wild. All right. We will stand adjourned until 1 November.
ADJOURNED UNTIL FRIDAY, 1 NOVEMBER 2002 [2.23pm]
