PN1
THE COMMISSIONER: Yes, appearances, please?
PN2
MS K. COOPER: Good afternoon, Commissioner, I appear on behalf of the Australian National University.
PN3
THE COMMISSIONER: Thank you, Ms Cooper.
PN4
MS J. TRACEY: For the CPSU, Commissioner.
PN5
THE COMMISSIONER: Thank you, Ms Tracey. Ms Tracey?
PN6
MS TRACEY: This application seeks to set aside the Librarians, Professional Officers' Association, Canberra Institute of Arts Award 1990. At the last hearing regarding this matter on 19 September Ms Cooper of the ANU also appeared before you. Ms Cooper suggested at that time that all persons are now covered by other awards of the Commission and that we might like to set the order aside. You suggested that we consider this matter. This is in fact correct and we have since had correspondence with Ms Cooper in regard to the matter, and we believe that the ANU will consent to the setting aside of this award.
PN7
All persons to whom this award applies are now covered by other awards of the Commission. The award is therefore redundant and no longer has any real application. I will just hand up a draft order that I had not attached to the application.
PN8
THE COMMISSIONER: Thank you.
PN9
MS TRACEY: On this basis the union asks that the award be set aside.
PN10
PN11
THE COMMISSIONER: Yes, Ms Cooper.
PN12
MS COOPER: Thank you, Commissioner. Yes, the ANU does consent to the application and concurs with the comments of Ms Tracey.
PN13
THE COMMISSIONER: Thank you. Yes, well, an order will be made in the terms of CPSU 1 setting aside the Librarians, Professional Officers' Association, Canberra Institute of Arts Award 1990. That order will take effect as of today's date, 17 December 2001, and that will complete the item 51 review of that award which is now completed. I will adjourn.
ADJOURNED INDEFINITELY [12.08pm]
