PN1
MS S SHEATHER: I appear with MR J METCHER, MR D DWYER and MS S HARRINGTON.
PN2
MS A PERIGO: I appear for the Australian Postal Corporation. With me is MR D RICHARDS and MS D KELLY.
PN3
THE SENIOR DEPUTY PRESIDENT: Yes.
PN4
MS PERIGO: Thank you, your Honour. Your Honour, the last time the matter was before the Commission on the 18th, the Commission during conciliation asked for Post to provide some information to the Commission. The union's dispute notification related to the implementation of part time dedicated outdoor delivery into Gateshead. During conciliation it was established the main issue seemed to be the introduction of part time dedicated outdoor delivery and the Commission requested some figures which I provided to the Commission on Friday and those figures related to New South Wales.
PN5
Your Honour if there was, sorry your Honour, it was my understanding during the conciliation as I was dealing with the New South Wales issue that we would give the New South Wales figures so I apologise if it was the Commission's intention to seek national figures and I have a copy of the national figures today so we can work our way through those. Your Honour, would it be useful if we did that on transcript or in conciliation?
PN6
THE SENIOR DEPUTY PRESIDENT: I have no preference. I think this is a matter that's better dealt with in conciliation generally but do you have them in writing?
PN7
MS PERIGO: I do your Honour.
PN8
THE SENIOR DEPUTY PRESIDENT: Could you hand them up?
PN9
MS PERIGO: Yes. There are a number of points I'd like to make about the figures generally. Given those points it might be appropriate if we do that in conciliation. One housekeeping matter if I could, the parties didn't order transcript the last occasion so if we could request that please.
PN10
THE SENIOR DEPUTY PRESIDENT: Yes.
PN11
MS PERIGO: Thank you, your Honour.
PN12
THE SENIOR DEPUTY PRESIDENT: I'm happy to organise transcript. In fact I'd assumed it was done.
PN13
MS SHEATHER: Before we go into conciliation, your Honour, I just make a note that these figures that have been provided actually have been provided by network not by centre. The crux of the argument we're making is about the implementation within the size of 100 rounds within a centre. So when you look at the network that's not really useful or helpful because the level of detail is not there and you might recall in the last conciliation, the last discussions we had, it was all about, that figures, what the main figures in the centre were. So it's difficult to proceed when that level of detail is not there.
PN14
THE SENIOR DEPUTY PRESIDENT: Well I'm just going to have a look at them for the moment. Is there anything else you want to say about them or the matter generally on the record before we go into conciliation?
PN15
MS SHEATHER: Not at this stage, your Honour.
PN16
THE SENIOR DEPUTY PRESIDENT: Right. We'll go off the record.
