THE VICE PRESIDENT: Good morning, Mr Zadow is it?

MR M ZADOW: Yes, I appear for the SDA.

THE VICE PRESIDENT: Now both of these applications this morning are by consent?

MR ZADOW: Yes, that’s correct.

THE VICE PRESIDENT: Fine, can I just confirm what the state of play is with each of the two of them. First of all the – in relation to the transitional award?

MR ZADOW: Yes.

THE VICE PRESIDENT: You are including the supported wage?

MR ZADOW: Yes.

THE VICE PRESIDENT: But not the school based apprenticeships?

MR ZADOW: No.

THE VICE PRESIDENT: You say that’s because?

MR ZADOW: I don’t believe the school based apprenticeships are in the terms of the Chemists Award ACT.

THE VICE PRESIDENT: It’s not appropriate to include school based apprenticeships in awards for chemists?

MR ZADOW: Indeed.

THE VICE PRESIDENT: Does this award cover positions other than chemists positions?

MR ZADOW: If your Honour would bear with me. No, this award covers only pharmacy, pharmacy assistants, pharmacists, pharmacist’s managers. There is a trainee rate, but that is not in relation to a skilled apprenticeship, or any school based apprenticeship.

THE VICE PRESIDENT: Fine. Thank you. In each of these matters I make orders in accordance with the draft orders and the orders will formally issue.
