THE COMMISSIONER: Yes Mr Matarazzo.

MR MATARAZZO: Thank you Commissioner. The ASU confirms this award is a common rule award in the Northern Territories therefore substituted service has been issued to all common rule parties that we normally inform and copies of the draft order has also been presented to the relevant common rule parties as per the substituted services order. The ASU is seeking to vary the three allowances in this common rule award, namely the first aid allowance. We're seeking to vary that in clause 23 of the award. The expenses allowances, mainly the meal allowance, in accordance with the CIP ABS figures and the motor vehicle allowances well for the past 12 months and according with the CIP Private Motoring Index.

The ASU is seeking that the allowances be varied in accordance with the draft order we've submitted to the Commission and that the order come in to force from the first pay period commencing on or after 1 October 2008. May it please the Commission.

THE COMMISSIONER: Yes this application reflects the outcomes of the Wages and Allowances Review 2008 and that accordingly the award will be varied in the manner sought. It will come in to effect - the variation will come to force in the first pay period to commence on or after 1 October 2008. These proceedings are adjourned.
