THE COMMISSIONER: Yes Mr Matarazzo.

MR MATARAZZO: Thank you Commissioner. The ASU wishes to put on the record that this award of the joint union respondent being mainly the Australian Services Union and the LHMU and the ALHMU has agreed for the ASU to vary this award for both unions. Commissioner the ASU is seeking to increase these allowances in accordance with the Furnishing and Glass Industry Decision. Of note clause 23.5, on call allowances, we're seeking to vary that by 3.5 per cent as in the draft order. The first aid officers' allowance in clause 23.7 and also the bilingual qualification allowances in clause 23.9. Furthermore the union is seeking to vary the expense allowances, namely the meal allowance in clause 25.2 in accordance with the CPI index figures for the meal out and takeaway food index. for the past 12 months.

Furthermore so therefore clause 23 would go to $20.60 as - furthermore, the clause 23 the motor vehicle allowances as well using the CPI relevant index. Furthermore there's another allowance in clause 23 called the removal allowance. Again we're seeking to increase that in accordance with the relevant CPI index and the final allowance is the - is also in clause 23, the travel and camping allowance also to be increased - yes as per the order. Commissioner the ASU is seeking that the allowances be varied in accordance with the draft order that we have submitted and we're seeking that these variations occur and come in to force from the first pay period commencing on or after 1 October 2008. May it please the Commission.

THE COMMISSIONER: The Commission is satisfied - the application is ..... requirements of the Act and that that decision places an allowance ..... 2008. Accordingly the award will be varied. It will reflect the draft order provisions. It will come to force from the first pay period to commence on or after 1 October 2008. These proceedings are adjourned.
