Australian Press Council |
A university senior lecturer complained to the Press Council that his privacy had been invaded on several occasions by photographers and a reporter of Melbourne Truth.
The activities of the pressmen related to a story which Truth subsequently published about the lecturer and a woman who was a widely known media personality.
Allowing for the fact that the woman concerned was a public figure, the Council was of the opinion that the activities of the photographers and reporter did not in the circumstances constitute such an invasion of privacy that the complaint should be upheld.
The complaint is therefore dismissed.
