Australian Press Council |
The Australian Press Council has received a complaint from Mr Alan Young, a Melbourne wine consultant, based upon a somewhat lengthy interview he had with a reporter from The Age following the adjudications made at the Melbourne Wine Show in August 1979.
The complaint is that the paper published in isolation a comment made by Mr Young about the adjudication. There is no question that the comment was made in those terms and it is impossible to conclude that the remark took on any different meaning by being taken out of context.
The Press Council is unable to see any substantial ground for the complaint and dismisses it accordingly.
