1.12 The committee has no comment on amendments made or explanatory material relating to the following bills:
• Crimes Legislation Amendment (Sexual Crimes Against Children and Community Protection Measures) Bill 2020;[4]
• National Skills Commissioner Bill 2020;[5]
• National Vocational Education and Training Regulator Amendment (Governance and Other Matters) Bill 2020;[6] and
• Treasury Laws Amendment (2020 Measures No. 2) Bill 2020.[7]
[4] On 15 June 2020, the Senate agreed to two Government amendments and one Opposition amendment, and the bill was read a third time. On 16 June 2020, the House of Representatives agreed to Senate amendments nos. 1 and 3 and disagreed to Senate amendment no. 2. The Senate did not insist on its amendment no. 2, and the bill finally passed both Houses.
[5] On 18 June 2020, the Senate agreed to three Government amendments. The Minister for Finance (Senator Cormann) tabled a supplementary explanatory memorandum, and the bill was read a third time.
[6] On 17 June 2020, the Minister for Government Services (Mr Robert) presented an addendum to the explanatory memorandum, and the bill was read a third time.
[7] On 17 June 2020, the Senate agreed to two Centre Alliance amendments, and the bill was read a third time. The House of Representatives disagreed to the Senate amendments, and the Senate insisted on its amendments. On 18 June 2020, the House of Representatives insisted on disagreeing to the amendments insisted on by the Senate.
