SEASON'S GREETINGS AND THANKS!

The AustLII Team wishes you all a happy and safe festive season and we look forward to seeing you all again in 2005.

We would also like to take this opportunity to thank our major funding sources: the Australian Research Council, CCH Australia Limited, Australian Business Limited, the Federal Attorney-General's Department, the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade, and the Department of Defence.

We are also grateful to our Law Faculties (UTS and UNSW) for their infrastructure assistance and general support, and to all others who have assisted with our funding. A complete list of AustLII's funding sources may be found at <http://www.austlii.edu.au/austlii/sponsors/>.

AustLII would not exist without access to the data provided by the Courts, Tribunals, Offices of Parliamentary Counsel, Law Reform Commissions and our numerous other sources. We thank all our data sources both for their commitment to free access to the law, and for their day-to-day help in providing the data to us in an efficient and cooperative way.

Our users continue to be our greatest advocates, and we thank you. It is your enthusiasm for AustLII that makes it possible for us to convince governments, courts and others to provide both the data and the funds on which free public access to the law depends. Keep up the good work!

NATIONAL TRAINING PROGRAMME WILL RETURN IN 2005

This year we launched the AustLII National Training Programme in Internet Legal Research in conjunction with Continuing Legal Education (CLE) at UNSW and with generous assistance from CCH Australia Limited.

The programme aimed to provide courses in Internet legal research across Australia to assist our users obtaining the maximum benefit from their use of AustLII, WorldLII, and other Internet legal research tools in Australia and overseas.

We are pleased to report that the programme has been a great success, with courses having been held in Brisbane, Darwin and Sydney during the last quarter. Building on that success, we are currently working on updating the courses which we plan to offer again in 2005. Dates and venues around Australia will be posted on our training pages at <http://www.austlii.edu.au/training/> when the details have been finalised.
