Progress in ICAC's prosecutions relating to its report on corrupt trafficking in personal data (see 1 PLPR 47) is detailed in its Annual Report, with identified details of the status and outcomes of prosecutions against 21 individuals. Nine individuals have now been convicted on charges ranging from false evidence, corruptly giving a benefit, unauthorised access to computer data, soliciting disclosure of social security data, and conspiracy to bribe. Fines of up to $2,000, bonds and community service orders have resulted so far. Prosecutions are still proceeding in ten cases, and two defendants have been discharged.
