[1] Mr Barnsley has given notice of appeal against his conviction for attempted robbery for which he received a 12 months sentence of imprisonment suspended for two years and three months periodic detention.Legal aid was refused by the Legal Services Agency.Mr Barnsley has not supplied any information indicating any ground of appeal of possible merit and has failed to respond to communications from the Court registry.He was given notice of this morning's hearing but has not appeared on the matter being called, nor has he contacted the Court.

[2] In these circumstances, there being no apparent merit in the appeal which the Court has been able to identify, the appeal is dismissed.The sentence of periodic detention, if not already served, must now be re-commenced, the next reporting to be on Saturday 25 May 2002 at 8.00am at the periodic detention centre at Henderson.
