BEFORE THE LIQUOR LICENSING AUTHORITY
Chairman: District Court Judge E W Unwin

DECISION
This is an application by Hayley Megan Beard and Douglas Michael Beard, trading in partnership, for renewal of an on-licence in respect of premises situated at 71 Commerce Street, Kaitaia, known as “Renaissonce Café 2001”.
In addition to the renewal of the on-licence, the applicant seeks to extend the hours during which the sale of liquor is authorised to Monday to Sunday 8.00 am to 1.30 am the following day. The applicant also seeks pursuant to Regulation 7(3) of the Sale of Liquor Regulations 1990 to include an outdoor dining area within the licensed premises.
The application was duly advertised and no objection or notice of desire to be heard has been received. Accordingly we deal with the matter on the papers.
We are satisfied as to the matters to which we must have regard as set out in s.22 of the Act. We renew the licence until 18 December 2005, that being three years from the first anniversary of the licence, and authorise the issue of a replacement licence and notice of renewal.
DATED at WELLINGTON this 17th day of April 2003
