Decision No. 288/2003
IN THE MATTER of the Wine Makers Act 1981
AND
IN THE MATTER of an application by REDLOCK HOLDINGS LIMITED for a wine maker's licence pursuant to s.8 of the Act in respect of premises situated at Thames Street, Napier
BEFORE THE LIQUOR LICENSING AUTHORITY
Chairman: District Court Judge E W Unwin
Member: Mr J C Crookston
DECISION
This is an application by Redlock Holdings Limited pursuant to s.8 of the Act for a wine maker's licence to make fruit wine on the premises situated at Thames Street, Napier.
The kind of wine that it is intended will be made under the licence is cider:
The premises are owned and operated by Montana Wines Limited a company of which the applicant is a wholly owned subsidiary.
The owner seeks, pursuant to s.16 of the Act, consent to use by the applicant of its premises and equipment.
A statement from Montana Wines Limited satisfies us that, having regard to their equipment, production control methods, and records, there are adequate safeguards against the mixing of any wine made by them with any wine or other liquor made by Redlock Holdings Limited.
The application was duly advertised and no objection or notice of desire to be heard has been received. Accordingly we deal with the matter on the papers.
We are satisfied as to the matters to which we must have regard pursuant to ss.9 and 16 of the Act, and we grant the application.
The licence may issue immediately.
DATED at WELLINGTON this 22nd day of April 2003
