ORAL DECISION OF THE AUTHORITY
Introduction
[1] This is an application by Maria Patricia Tupuna Teinakore for a General Manager’s Certificate pursuant to s.118 of the Act.
[2] At the time of her application Ms Teinakore was working at “Star Mart Grand Arcade”, Wellington. Her employer initially supported her application, which was accompanied by two favourable references.
[3] The Inspector opposed the application on the ground that the applicant failed to attend an interview to determine her experience, qualifications, and knowledge of the Sale of Liquor Act 1989 to hold a General Manager’s Certificate.
[4] On 10 March 2004 the applicant’s employer sent a facsimile letter to Mr Putze, the District Licensing Agency Inspector, advising him that Ms Teinakore was no longer working for the company and would not be continuing with her application.
[5] Ms Teinakore has not appeared today to support her application. By her absence we can only conclude that Ms Teinakore no longer wishes to pursue her application.
[6] In all the circumstances, Ms Teinakore’s application for a General Manager's Certificate is refused.
DATED at WELLINGTON this 15th day of July 2004
