ORAL DECISION OF THE AUTHORITY

Introduction

[1] This is an application by Thi Thuy Anh Nguyen for a General Manager’s Certificate pursuant to s.118 of the Act.

[2] At the time of her application Ms Nguyen was working at “New World Metro Supermarket”, Willis Street, Wellington. Her employer has supported her application, which was accompanied by two favourable references.

[3] The Inspector opposed the application on the ground that the applicant failed to attend appointments for interviews on three occasions to determine her experience, qualifications, and knowledge of the Sale of Liquor Act 1989 to hold a General Manager’s Certificate.

[4] Ms Nguyen is no longer working at, “New World Metro Supermarket”, Wellington. Attempts to contact her have been unsuccessful. She has not appeared today to support her application. By her absence we can only conclude that Ms Nguyen no longer wishes to pursue her application.

[5] In all the circumstances, Ms Nguyen’s application for a General Manager's Certificate is refused.
