RESERVED DECISION OF THE AUTHORITY

[1] The following is an application by Andreas Gradinger pursuant to s.118 of the Act for a General Manager’s Certificate. The criteria to which we must have regard are set out in s.121 of the Act.

[2] The application was opposed by the Police on the grounds that the applicant had a history of serious traffic offending that included four charges of driving whilst under the influence of alcohol and some other convictions that involved the use of alcohol and/or drugs.

[3] The Police and the Inspector have been unable to locate the applicant. The Inspector has been unable to interview the applicant to determine his suitability to be the holder of a General Manager’s Certificate.

[4] Mr Gradinger did not appear to support his application. By his absence we can only conclude that he no longer wishes to pursue his application.

[5] In all the circumstances, Mr Gradinger’s application for a General Manager’s Certificate is refused.

DATED at WELLINGTON this 20th day of October 2004
