ORAL DECISION OF THE AUTHORITY
[1] This is an application by Laura Ann Sigle pursuant to s.118 of the Act for a General Manager’s Certificate. The criteria to which we must have regard is set out in s.121 of the Act.
[2] The Inspector has opposed the application on the ground that he has been unable to determine Ms Sigle’s suitability to be the holder of a General Manager’s Certificate. On 17 February 2005 the Inspector sent a letter to Ms Sigle acknowledging her application and requesting that she arrange a date and time for an interview for the Inspector to establish Ms Sigle’s experience, qualifications and knowledge of the Sale of Liquor Act 1989.
[3] Ms Sigle failed to make an appointment for an interview and a second letter was sent on 1 June 2005. Since then the Inspector has had no contact with Ms Sigle.
[4] When an Authority staff member attempted to contact Ms Sigle by letter it was returned with a note that she had moved to Australia.
[5] Ms Sigle has failed to appear today to support her application. In light of the circumstances it would appear that she is no longer in the country, and we can only conclude that she no longer wishes to pursue her application.
[6] In all the circumstances Ms Sigle’s application for a General Manager’s Certificate is refused.
DATED at WELLINGTON this 24th day of November 2005
