ORAL DECISION OF THE AUTHORITY

[1] Before the Authority is an application by Jamie Daniel Evans for the renewal of a General Manager’s Certificate.

[2] Mr Evans was granted a General Manager’s Certificate on 5 September 2002. He duly made application for the renewal of the certificate and was asked whether he had been convicted of any offence since the certificate was issued. He circled the answer ‘no’. When the application was referred to the Police, notice of opposition was given because Mr Evans had failed to disclose a conviction for disorderly behaviour which was imposed on 30 October 2002.

[3] Accordingly the applicant was written to and advised of the opposition. It was then discovered that not only was the letter returned, but the Agency received advice that Mr Evans had returned to the United Kingdom.

[4] In all the circumstances Mr Evans has not appeared before the Authority in support of his application which is now declined.

DATED at WELLINGTON this 19th day of May 2006
