HEARING at AUCKLAND on 6 July 2006
APPEARANCES
Mr N J Austin – applicant
Mr P A Radich – Manukau District
Licensing Agency Inspector – in opposition
ORAL DECISION OF THE AUTHORITY
[1] This is an application by Nicholas James Austin for the renewal of his General Manager’s Certificate.
[2] Mr Austin was first granted his certificate on 21 March 2003. The position in this case is that following the amendment to the Act on 1 April last neither the Authority nor the Agency can issue a new certificate or renew an old certificate unless the manager holds the prescribed qualification known as the Licence Controller Qualification.
[3] In this case Mr Austin sat the test last week. He has passed the test but the certificate has still not yet been received. Accordingly we propose to confirm that subject to the production of a copy of the certificate to the Agency or the Authority within the next 30 days the General Manager’s Certificate will be renewed accordingly.
[4] If there are any other difficulties then either the application will be declined or a further public hearing will be scheduled.
DATED at WELLINGTON this 19th day of July 2006
