ORAL DECISION OF THE AUTHORITY

[1] This is an application before the Authority by Parikshat Dhody for the renewal of his General Manager’s Certificate.

[2] Mr Dhody was first granted a certificate on 19 August 2005. His renewal application was in order, and at the time he was working at an off-licensed premises. However there was no Licence Controller Qualification as is now required by the Act and the processing of the application was delayed pending the receipt of that document.

[3] In the interim period of time an attempt was made to locate Mr Dhody only to find that:

• [a] He had moved to Australia; and
  
• [b] That the premises where he was working has closed.
  

[4] There is no appearance by Mr Dhody to support his application and in the circumstances it is clear that there is no further requirement for him to continue to be the holder of a General Manager’s Certificate.
[5] Accordingly, his application for renewal of the certificate is declined.
