ORAL DECISION OF THE AUTHORITY
[1] Before the Authority is an application by Vincent Luke Taue for a General Manager's Certificate.
[2] Mr Taue filed his application with the Agency on 12 April 2005. He was sent a letter acknowledging the application, and asked to contact the Inspector to arrange a date and time for an interview. He made an appointment in September 2005, and showed a good knowledge of the Act.
[3] At the time of the application Mr Taue was facing a charge involving liquor abuse. However the charge was subsequently withdrawn, and the Police opposition to the application was also withdrawn.
[4] However, on 1 April 2006, Mr Taue became subject to the amendment to the Act. He was required to provide the Licence Controller Qualification. This was requested. He failed to respond. It is noted that the notice of hearing was returned on the basis that he had left his current address. He has failed to appear in support of his application.
[5] In the circumstances, due to his absence, and due to the absence of the Licence Controller Qualification, the application is now refused.
DATED at WELLINGTON this 30th day of October 2007
