ORAL DECISION OF THE AUTHORITY
[1] This is an application for the renewal of a General Manager's Certificate issued to Amy Frances Buist. Ms Buist has held her certificate since 2003. The certificate fell due for renewal on 13 October 2007. The application was not accompanied by the required Licence Controller Qualification.
[2] The applicant was written to on 4 October last year requesting a copy of the required qualification. On 16 November last a letter was received from the applicant enclosing a document which was a certificate of achievement but not the relevant qualification.
[3] The matter was set down for a public hearing and there was no appearance by Ms Buist and no explanation was received for her absence. The Authority accordingly draws the inference that Ms Buist is no longer interested in pursuing her application, which as a matter of law, must be refused.
DATED at WELLINGTON this 13th day of August 2008
