ORAL DECISION OF THE AUTHORITY
[1] This is an application by Siona Catriona Collier for the renewal of her General Manager’s Certificate.
[2] The certificate was granted on 25 February 2004. It fell due for renewal on 25 February 2008. The application did not have with it the requisite Licence Controller Qualification. This qualification came into being on 1 April 2006. Since that time neither the Agency nor the Authority is permitted to renew a manager’s certificate in the absence of the qualification.
[3] Although attempts have been made to obtain this document, and although the applicant had obtained the required standards, the next step of obtaining the qualification has apparently not been carried out.
[4] In the event the applicant was contacted to see whether she was still interested in obtaining the certificate. The answer was in the affirmative. Accordingly we have agreed that the application will have a first and final adjournment for three months. If within that period of time a copy of the necessary qualification signed by the Hospitality Standards Institute is produced, then the renewal will be granted. If no document is received within that period of time then as a matter of law the application for renewal must be refused.
DATED at WELLINGTON this 16th day of December 2008
