New Zealand Liquor Licensing Authority |
Last Updated: 3 September 2010
Decision No. 118/2009
IN THE MATTER of the Sale of Liquor Act 1989
AND
IN THE MATTER of an application by ROBIN
SHARPE PIERSON pursuant to
s.123 of the
Act for renewal of a
General Manager’s Certificate
BEFORE THE LIQUOR LICENSING AUTHORITY
Chairman: District Court Judge E W
Unwin
Member: Mr P M McHaffie
FINAL DECISION
We have before us an application by Robin Sharpe Pierson for renewal of his General Manager’s Certificate.
The District Licensing Agency Inspector opposed the application because the applicant had failed to provide evidence of having achieved the Licence Controller Qualification prescribed by s.117A of the Act.
A public hearing was held in Gisborne on 14 May 2008, and the application was adjourned for six months to allow Mr Pierson a further chance to obtain the qualification (see LLA PH 737/2008).
The applicant has now provided our Secretary with a copy of the qualification. We are therefore satisfied as to the matters to which we must have regard in s.126 of the Act and we grant the application. A notice of renewal is attached to this decision.
DATED at WELLINGTON this 19th day of February 2009
