Mr J P Sheehan –
Waitakere District Licensing Agency Inspector – in opposition
ORAL DECISION OF THE AUTHORITY
[1] Before the Authority is an application by Elaine Katherine Karl pursuant to s.123 of the Act for the renewal of a General Manager’s Certificate. The applicant filed her application with the Waitakere District Licensing Agency on 6 November 2008. There was no objection from the Police to the application.
[2] The District Licensing Agency opposed the renewal on the grounds that the applicant had indicated on her application form that she was self employed and looking for employment. When asked to provide the name of the licensed premises in which her certificate is being used the applicant failed to provide any details. The applicant was contacted by telephone on 9 December 2008 and confirmed that she is not presently employed within the hospitality industry. The applicant was advised to contact the Agency directly should she be offered a position within the hospitality industry so that the opposition could be withdrawn.
[3] There has been no further contact with the applicant. There has been no appearance by the applicant before the Authority. The assumption is that the applicant is no longer interested in pursuing her application and the application is now refused.
DATED at WELLINGTON this 13th day of July 2009
