DECISION
We have before us an application by Sergeant J R Dalziell-Kernohan of Hamilton Police dated 19 August 2010 for suspension of a General Manager’s Certificate held by Praveen Singh Thakur.
The ground for the application is that conduct of the manager has been such as to show that he is not a suitable person to hold the certificate.
Mr Thakur was stopped at a Police roadside checkpoint on 29 May 2010 where he registered an excess level of 203 milligrams of alcohol per 100 millilitres of blood. He appeared in the Hamilton District Court on 19 August 2010, was convicted, fined $850 plus $315 costs and disqualified from driving for six months.
The respondent does not dispute the ground for the application and he has agreed to suspension of his manager’s certificate. Accordingly, we make the following order by consent:
General Manager’s Certificate number 015/GM/944/08, issued to Praveen Singh Thakur, is suspended for four weeks from Wednesday 10 November 2010.
DATED at WELLINGTON this 21st day of October 2010
