DECISION

We have before us applications by Constable N R Laurenson of Avondale Police dated 9 September 2010 for suspension of an on-licence and a General Manager’s Certificate following a controlled purchase operation conducted on Friday 27 August 2010.

The grounds for the applications are: that the premises have been conducted in breach of the provisions of the following sections of the Act:

(a) Section 155 – sale of liquor to a person under 18 years of age; and
(b) Section 164 – permitting a minor to be in a supervised area; and
(c) Section 165 – unauthorised sale or supply of liquor;

and that the manager has failed to conduct the licensed premises in a proper manner.

The respondents do not dispute the grounds for the applications and they have agreed to suspension of the on-licence and manager’s certificate. Accordingly, we make the following orders by consent:

(a) On-licence number 007/ON/304/2010, issued to Barrel Room Limited, is suspended for 48 hours from 10.00 am on Thursday 25 November 2010 until 10.00 am on Saturday 27 November 2010.

(b) General Manager’s Certificate number GM/007/200/08, issued to Amanda Jane Edmonds, is suspended for four weeks from Monday 22 November 2010.
