IN THE MATTER of the Sale of Liquor Act 1989
AND
IN THE MATTER of an application pursuant to s.135 of the Act for suspension of Manager’s Certificate number GM/069/303/2008 issued to KURT JAMES INNES
BETWEEN NEIL KETTINGS
(Police Officer of Dunedin)
Applicant
AND KURT JAMES INNES
Respondent
BEFORE THE LIQUOR LICENSING AUTHORITY
Chairman: District Court Judge J D Hole
Member: Dr J Horn
DECISION
We have before us an application by Constable N Kettings of Dunedin Police, dated 9 March 2010, for suspension of a General Manager’s Certificate held by Kurt James Innes.
The ground for the application is that on 21 February 2009 Mr Innes held a hunting knife in his hand while having a verbal argument with his partner, resulting in his being convicted in the Dunedin District Court and fined. Police have applied for this order as they feel this shows the applicant has shown himself unsuitable to hold a General Manager’s Certificate.
The respondent has agreed to suspension of his manager’s certificate. Accordingly, we make the following order by consent:
General Manager’s Certificate number GM/069/034/2008, issued to Kurt James Innes, is suspended for one month from 1 June 2010.
DATED at WELLINGTON this 4th day of May 2010
