ORAL DECISION OF THE AUTHORITY
[1] Before the Authority is an application by Perrin Basil Thomas for a General Manager's Certificate pursuant to s.118 of the Act. The application was received by the Wellington District Licensing Agency on 18 December 2009. The application was supported with a copy of the required Licence Controller Qualification as well as a reference from Ms Dempsey, his employer at “Astoria Café”.
[2] The application was originally opposed by the Police due to the applicant’s involvement in the Police diversion scheme. That opposition has now been withdrawn, as the matter is now a historic one and need not preclude the grant of a certificate.
[3] Mr Thomas has appeared and is supported by his employer. Taking all matters into consideration we are satisfied as to the requirements set out in s.121 of the Act and the application is now granted.
[4] The certificate may issue immediately.
DATED at WELLINGTON this 18TH day of May 2010
