IN THE MATTER of the Sale of Liquor Act 1989
AND
IN THE MATTER of an application by AMELIA MARY VELA pursuant to s.118 of the Act for a General Manager’s Certificate
BEFORE THE LIQUOR LICENSING AUTHORITY
Quorum: Mr P M McHaffie
DECISION
We have before us an application by Amelia Mary Vela for a General Manager’s Certificate.
This application was initially opposed by an Auckland District Licensing Agency Inspector due to her lack of experience in the industry. Since then the Inspector has agreed with Ms Vela and her employer that an undertaking restricting the applicant to her current place of employment for the initial certificate period would be given. On that basis, the Inspector has withdrawn his opposition.
We are satisfied as to the matters to which we must have regard in s.121(1). The certificate may issue immediately. The certificate will be noted “undertaking given” which refers to the undertaking given by the applicant that she will only utilise the certificate at the “Glengarry Hancocks Network” unless an exemption is applied for.
DATED at WELLINGTON this 24th day of May 2010
