IN THE MATTER of the Sale of Liquor Act 1989
AND
IN THE MATTER of an application by DARRELL SHORTCLIFFE pursuant to s.118 of the Act for a General Manager’s Certificate
BEFORE THE LIQUOR LICENSING AUTHORITY
Quorum: Dr J Horn
Ms J D Moorhead
FINAL DECISION
In decision NZLLA PH 556/2009, following a public hearing at Pukekohe on 20 May 2009, we adjourned an application by Darrell Shortcliffe for a General Manager’s Certificate for 12 months.
The Police had opposed the application on the basis of Mr Shortcliffe having incurred a conviction for disorderly behaviour.
We elected to adjourn the matter to give the applicant an opportunity to demonstrate that he had learned from his mistake. We indicated that we would be prepared to revisit the matter at the end of 12 months.
The Police have advised our Secretary that there have been no further matters of concern brought to their attention during the period of adjournment, and opposition to the application is now withdrawn.
We are satisfied as to the matters to which we must have regard in s.121(1) of the Act and we grant the application. The certificate may issue immediately.
DATED at WELLINGTON this 10th day of June 2010
