DECISION
We have before us an application by Sergeant A J Lawn of Christchurch Police, dated 27 May 2010, for suspension of a General Manager’s Certificate held by David Wallace.
The ground for the application is that Mr Wallace has shown himself unsuitable to hold the certificate. In particular he was convicted on 23 October 2009 of driving with excess blood alcohol, having been stopped on 3 July 2009 with a blood alcohol reading of 102 milligrams of alcohol per 100 millilitres of blood.
The respondent has agreed to suspension of his manager’s certificate. Accordingly, we make the following order by consent:
General Manager’s Certificate number GM/2628/97, issued to David William Wallace, is suspended for 30 days from 1 July 2010.
The respondent has also agreed to a shortened renewal period for his certificate of 12 months when it next falls due for renewal on 28 August 2010.
DATED at WELLINGTON this 21st day of June 2010
