IN THE MATTER of an application pursuant to s.135 of the Act for suspension of Manager’s Certificate number 040/GM/2008/24 issued to ZANA MARIJA BRAJKOVICH-THWAITES
BETWEEN JASON RONALD THURSTON
(Police Officer of Wellington)
Applicant
AND ZANA MARIJA BRAJKOVICH-THWAITES
Respondent
BEFORE THE LIQUOR LICENSING AUTHORITY
Quorum: Mr P M McHaffie
Ms J D Moorhead
FINAL DECISION
In decision NZLLA PH 1453/2009, following a public hearing at Wellington on 17 December 2009, we adjourned an application by Sergeant J R Thurston of Wellington Police, dated 3 November 2009, for suspension of a General Manager’s Certificate held by Zana Marija Brajkovich-Thwaites.
The ground for the application related to a dishonesty incident in August 2009, and was that Ms Brajkovich-Thwaites had thereby shown herself not suitable to hold a certificate. We indicated at paragraph [7] that we felt a three month suspension was appropriate. However, at paragraph [8] we adjourned the hearing, and the suspension, to allow the respondent the chance to decide whether she in fact has a future in the industry.
That adjournment having elapsed, our Secretary made efforts to contact the respondent to confirm her intentions before we issued this judgment. These efforts having been unsuccessful, we now make the following order:
General Manager’s Certificate number 040/GM/2008/24, issued to Zana Marija Brajkovich-Thwaites, is suspended for three months from 5 July 2010.
DATED at WELLINGTON this 23rd day of June 2010
