BEFORE THE LIQUOR LICENSING AUTHORITY

DECISION
We have before us an application by Sergeant J R Dalziell-Kernohan of Hamilton Police, dated 8 June 2010, for suspension of a General Manager’s Certificate held by Tonia Fiona Ivy Begovich.
The ground for the application is that the conduct of the manager is such as to show that she is not a suitable person to hold the certificate. In particular, on 24 May 2010 she was convicted in the Te Awamutu District Court of driving with excess breath alcohol, having been stopped on 1 May 2010 with a breath alcohol level of 246 micrograms of alcohol per litre of breath, the legal limit for a person under 20 years of age being 150 micrograms per litre.
The respondent has agreed to suspension of her manager’s certificate. Accordingly, we make the following order by consent:
General Manager’s Certificate number 015/GM/1204/09, issued to Tonia Fiona Ivy Begovich, is suspended for 30 days from Monday 23 August 2010.
DATED at WELLINGTON this 14th day of July 2010
