IN THE MATTER of the Sale of Liquor Act 1989
AND
IN THE MATTER of an application by DAVID MOON HING LAM pursuant to s.123 of the Act for renewal of a General Manager’s Certificate
BEFORE THE LIQUOR LICENSING AUTHORITY
Chairman: District Court Judge J D Hole
Member: Dr J Horn
DECISION
We have before us an application by David Moon Hing Lam for renewal of a General Manager’s Certificate.
The Police initially opposed this application due to Mr Lam being convicted of driving with excess breath alcohol in the Auckland District Court on 7 May 2009. Since then however, Mr Lam has agreed to the suspension of his certificate, which we ordered in decision [2010] NZLLA 542. Police have now indicated their concerns have been satisfied, and they have withdrawn their opposition.
We are satisfied as to the matters to which we must have regard in s.126 of the Act and we grant the application. A notice of renewal is attached to this decision.
DATED at WELLINGTON this 27th day of July 2010
