DECISION

We have before us an application by Mr B A Smart, Invercargill Police Licensing Support Officer, dated 14 July 2010, for suspension of a General Manager’s Certificate held by Laurel Marie Savage.

The ground for the application is that the conduct of the manager has been such as to show that she is not a suitable person to hold the certificate.

Following an altercation on 24 March 2010 in premises known as “Bayview Hotel”, Bluff, Ms Savage was subsequently charged under s.189(2) of the Crimes Act 1961 with injuring with intent to injure. The charge was reduced to assault under s.196 of the Crimes Act to which she pleaded guilty. Ms Savage was discharged without conviction.

The respondent does not dispute the ground for the application and she has agreed to suspension of her manager’s certificate. Accordingly, we make the following order by consent:

General Manager’s Certificate number 073/GM/6533/05, issued to Laurel Marie Savage, is suspended for four weeks from Monday 20 September 2010.

DATED at WELLINGTON this 19th day of August 2010
