IN THE MATTER of the Sale of Liquor Act 1989
AND
IN THE MATTER of an application by SCOTT VAUGHAN TONER pursuant to s.123 of the Act for renewal of a General Manager’s Certificate
BEFORE THE LIQUOR LICENSING AUTHORITY
Chairman: District Court Judge J D Hole
Member: Mr P M McHaffie
DECISION
We have before us an application by Scott Vaughan Toner for renewal of a General Manager’s Certificate.
The Police and Rotorua District Licensing Agency Inspector opposed the application because Mr Toner had failed to demonstrate satisfactory knowledge and understanding of the Act. The matter was referred to the Authority for determination at a public hearing.
Prior to those proceedings being scheduled Mr Toner arranged to be interviewed by the Police and Agency Inspector and satisfied them as to his suitability to continue to hold the certificate. Opposition to renewal is now withdrawn.
We are satisfied as to the matters to which we must have regard in s.126 of the Act and we grant the application. A notice of renewal is attached to this decision.
DATED at WELLINGTON this 27th day of August 2010
