IN THE MATTER of the Sale of Liquor Act 1989
AND
IN THE MATTER of an application by CHRISTOPHER JAMES KNIGHT pursuant to s.118 of the Act for a General Manager’s Certificate
BEFORE THE LIQUOR LICENSING AUTHORITY
Chairman: District Court Judge J D Hole
Member: Mr P M McHaffie
DECISION
We have before us an application by Christopher James Knight for a General Manager’s Certificate.
The Police and District Licensing Agency Inspector initially opposed this application because of a number of recent incidents of alcohol abuse coming to Police attention. All parties agreed this application should be delayed so the applicant would have the expected two year stand down period between the behaviour and the certificate issuing. That time having now passed incident free, their concerns have been satisfied and they have withdrawn their opposition.
We are satisfied as to the matters to which we must have regard in s.121(1) of the Act and we grant the application. The certificate may issue immediately.
DATED at WELLINGTON this 27th day of August 2010
