IN THE MATTER of the Sale of Liquor Act 1989
AND
IN THE MATTER of an application by ASHLEIGH KATRINA BOWER pursuant to s.118 of the Act for a General Manager’s Certificate
BEFORE THE LIQUOR LICENSING AUTHORITY
Quorum: Mr P M McHaffie
DECISION
We have before us an application by Ashleigh Katrina Bower for a General Manager’s Certificate.
The District Licensing Agency Inspector opposed the application because Ms Bower was not employed in the hospitality industry and she had failed to provide evidence of having achieved the Licence Controller Qualification prescribed by s.117A of the Act.
The Inspector has advised our Secretary that the applicant has now gained employment in licensed premises, and she has the committed support of her employer. She has also provided a copy of the requisite qualification together with an undertaking that she will initially confine her right to manage licensed premises to the “Creek Hotel’ where she is currently employed.
We are satisfied as to the matters to which we must have regard in s.121(1) of the Act and we grant the application. The certificate may issue immediately.
DATED at WELLINGTON this 7TH day of November 2011
