DECISION
We have before us an application by Constable I Patton of Christchurch Police, dated 13 May 2011, for suspension of a General Manager’s Certificate held by Tania Vera Walker.
The ground for the application is that the conduct of the manager has been such as to show that she is not a suitable person to hold the certificate.
On 26 March 2010, while driving at Christchurch, Ms Walker was processed by the Police for alcohol intake and registered an excess level of 574 micrograms of alcohol per litre of breath. The permissible limit is 400 micrograms per litre.
On 16 April 2010, Ms Walker was convicted in the Christchurch District Court, fined $800 (with $130 costs) and disqualified from driving for six months.
The respondent does not dispute the ground for the application and she has agreed to suspension of her manager’s certificate. Accordingly, we make the following order by consent:
General Manager’s Certificate number GM/060/478/2004, issued to Tania Vera Walker, is suspended for 30 days from Monday 1 August 2011.
DATED at WELLINGTON this 17th day of June 2011
