IN THE MATTER of the Sale of Liquor Act 1989
AND
IN THE MATTER of an application by JESSICA SHIRLEY WELFORD pursuant to s.118 of the Act for a General Manager’s Certificate
BEFORE THE LIQUOR LICENSING AUTHORITY
Chairman: District Court Judge J D Hole
Member: Ms J D Moorhead
DECISION
We have before us an application by Jessica Shirley Welford for a General Manager’s Certificate.
The Police and District Licensing Agency Inspector opposed the application because Ms Welford was facing an active charge of having sold liquor to a minor during a controlled purchase operation in October 2010. The matter was referred to the Authority for determination at a public hearing.
Prior to those proceedings the regulatory authorities indicated that they did not intend to pursue their opposition which is now withdrawn.
We are satisfied as to the matters to which we must have regard in s.121(1) of the Act and we grant the application. The certificate may issue immediately.
