IN THE MATTER of the Sale of Liquor Act 1989

AND

IN THE MATTER of an application pursuant to s.135 of the Act for suspension or cancellation of General Manager’s Certificate number GM 5427/99 issued to ELIZABETH ANN CAIRD

BETWEEN SEAN ANTHONY JUDD

(Police Officer of Westport)

Applicant

AND ELIZABETH ANN CAIRD

Respondent

BEFORE THE LIQUOR LICENSING AUTHORITY

Chairman: District Court Judge J D Hole
Member: Dr J Horn

DECISION

We have before us an application by Sergeant S A Judd of Westport Police dated 28 March 2011, for suspension or cancellation of a General Manager’s Certificate held by Elizabeth Ann Caird.

The ground for the application is that the conduct of the manager has been such as to show that she is not a suitable person to hold the certificate.

On 16 February 2011 Ms Caird was convicted in the Whataroa District Court on a charge of theft by a person in a special relationship. She was sentenced to 160 hours of community work.

The respondent does not dispute the ground for the application and she has agreed to cancellation of her manager’s certificate. Accordingly, we make the following order by consent:

General Manager’s Certificate number GM 5427/99, issued to Elizabeth Ann Caird, is hereby cancelled.

DATED at WELLINGTON this 20th day of July 2011
